Don’t go charging in
Theirs not to make reply,
- Theirs not to reason why,
- Theirs but to do and die:
- Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
From the poem ‘The Charge of the Light Brigade’, by Alfred Lord Tennyson, 1854 The brave young men of the British cavalry in the Crimean War would have lasted a whole lot longer had they not charged too soon. The Charge of the Light Brigade was a classic military blunder on the part of cavalry commanders at Balaclava on October 25th 1854. They ordered the cavalry into what has become known as the valley of death. A misunderstanding between rival commanders Lords Lucan and Cardigan, meant they did not check what they were up against and consequently ordered a charge while surrounded on three sides by Russian cannons and riflemen. They paid a very heavy price with more than a third of the cavalry wiped out.
Fortunately, nothing quite so disastrous happens when you come too soon during lovemaking. But if you charge in with abandon and ride hard in the saddle like there’s no tomorrow, you too could suffer the disastrous and humiliating consequences of being finished before your time.
Good quality lovemaking is not a charge, but a battle of love which has a beginning a middle and an end. The beginning is all about preparing the ground. The more you can stimulate and excite your partner prior to lovemaking, the more enjoyment she will derive from the act itself.
The middle, the point of penetration, is the part where many men make the mistake of just charging in. They then find themselves surrounded on all sides by the highly stimulating walls of the vagina. Unprepared for such a powerful assault on their senses, the charge invariably ends in early defeat and humiliation. Instead, you should pace yourself, co-ordinating your attack and carefully reigning in the troops until the final assault. If you do find yourself overpowered, there is no shame in calling a hasty retreat to regroup, change positions and charge again.
Only at the end, after sustaining vigorous bombardment of the senses, and when the woman is in complete surrender, should the final glorious charge be made. Follow these had won lessons from history and you will have earned yourself the reputation as a fine upstanding officer and a gentleman.
